The Website is operated by TrendLit Publishing Private Limited ("TrendLit", "we", "us" or "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore.
By accessing the Website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and the applicable policies referenced in this document. If you do not agree to these Terms, please discontinue use of the Website.
Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order.

3. Scope of These Terms
These Terms apply to your use of the Website and transactions made directly through our online store, including purchases of books, publications, merchandise and other products listed for sale.
Certain activities may be subject to additional or separate terms, including:
-
Publishing, co-publishing and rights-management agreements.
-
Editing, translation, design, typesetting and other professional services.
-
Bespoke or commissioned products.
-
Educational programmes, workshops and events.
-
Promotions, competitions, subscriptions or other special offers with their own terms.
Where a separate written agreement applies to a particular transaction or engagement, that agreement will govern the specific subject matter it addresses to the extent of any inconsistency with these Terms, subject to applicable law.
These Terms do not automatically constitute a publishing agreement, grant of intellectual property rights, commission agreement or guarantee of acceptance of any manuscript or project.
4. Eligibility and Permitted Use
You may use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
-
Use the Website in connection with fraudulent, unlawful or misleading activities.
-
Interfere with the security, functionality or proper operation of the Website.
-
Attempt unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data.
-
Upload or transmit malicious code or harmful material.
-
Use automated tools to extract, copy or collect Website content in a manner that infringes our rights or violates applicable law.
-
Infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights belonging to TrendLit or third parties.
-
Misrepresent your identity or provide materially false information when placing an order.
We may take reasonable steps to protect the Website, our customers and our business from misuse. Any restriction or suspension of access will be exercised consistently with applicable law.
5. Accounts and Customer Information
Certain Website features may allow you to create an account or save your information for future purchases.
You are responsible for providing accurate information and taking reasonable steps to protect your account credentials.
Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We may restrict access to an account where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, protect security or address a material breach of these Terms, subject to applicable law.
Our collection and handling of personal data are explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Products and Product Descriptions
We endeavour to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, prices, specifications, publication details and availability information are accurate and current.
However, some variations may occur because of screen settings, photography, printing processes, production batches or changes in packaging.
For books and publications, relevant product details may include the title, author, editor, translator, language, edition, format, dimensions, page count, publication date and ISBN, where applicable.
Customers should review the available product information before purchasing.
A minor variation that does not materially affect the product may not constitute a defect. However, this section does not excuse material misdescriptions or limit rights relating to goods that do not conform to the contract.
If we discover a material error in a product listing, we may contact affected customers to explain the issue and discuss an appropriate resolution.
7. Prices, Currency and Taxes
Prices are displayed in the currency indicated on the Website or at checkout.
Unless otherwise stated, applicable shipping charges and other payable amounts will be displayed or communicated before an order is finalised.
We reserve the right to change prices prospectively, subject to applicable law. A price change will not automatically alter an order that has already been accepted at an agreed price.
If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price due to a material error, we may contact you before fulfilling the order to explain the error and discuss available options.
If an order is cancelled because we cannot fulfil it at the agreed price or because a material listing error has occurred, any refund due will be processed in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
For international orders, prices may exclude import duties, destination-country taxes, customs clearance charges or other fees unless expressly stated otherwise.
8. Orders and Contract Formation
When you submit an order through the Website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products under the terms displayed at the time of purchase.
An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt of your order but does not necessarily constitute acceptance of every item or confirmation that the order is ready for dispatch.
The order will be accepted in accordance with the order-confirmation process communicated by us or through the Website.
We may decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary because:
-
A product is unavailable or cannot be supplied.
-
A material pricing or listing error has occurred.
-
Payment cannot be authorised or verified.
-
Delivery to the stated destination cannot reasonably be arranged.
-
We reasonably suspect fraud, unauthorised payment or misuse of the Website.
-
A legal or regulatory restriction prevents fulfilment.
Where payment has already been collected for an order that we cancel, we will arrange an appropriate refund.
We will not rely on this section to avoid an order or obligation that has already become binding where doing so would breach applicable law or the agreed contract.
9. Payment
Payment must be completed using the payment methods made available at checkout, unless we expressly agree to another arrangement in writing.
Payments may be processed by Shopify or third-party payment providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to the relevant provider's terms.
You authorise the applicable payment provider to process the payment necessary to complete your purchase.
You are responsible for ensuring that the payment and billing information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.
If a payment fails, is reversed or cannot be verified, we may delay fulfilment while the issue is resolved.
Nothing in this section limits your rights in relation to unauthorised transactions, payment disputes or other matters governed by applicable law.
10. Product Availability and Pre-orders
All products are subject to availability unless expressly stated otherwise.
Some books and other products may be offered as pre-orders, backorders, limited editions or made-to-order items.
Estimated publication dates, restock dates and dispatch dates are provided in good faith but may change because of printing, production, supplier, distribution or logistics delays.
Where a material delay or inability to fulfil an order arises, we will communicate relevant information and any available options.
If we cannot fulfil an order, customers may be entitled to cancellation and a refund in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
11. Shipping and Delivery
Shipping rates, processing times, delivery estimates and international shipping arrangements are described in our Shipping Policy.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and checking their order details before completing checkout.
We will take reasonable steps to fulfil accepted orders using the agreed delivery arrangements.
Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Delivery may be affected by factors including carrier disruptions, weather, customs clearance, public holidays and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If an order is delayed, lost, damaged or incorrectly delivered, please contact us so that we can investigate.
Nothing in these Terms automatically transfers responsibility for goods to the customer before the transfer of risk required by applicable law or the agreed delivery terms.
12. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Returns, refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund Policy and Return Policy, as applicable.
We do not generally offer discretionary refunds for change-of-mind purchases, subject to the published policies and any rights or remedies required by applicable law.
Where products are defective, incorrectly supplied, materially misdescribed or otherwise eligible for a legal remedy, we will assess the matter and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
Any cancellation restrictions, including those applying to pre-orders or made-to-order products, are subject to mandatory legal rights.
Please refer to our Refund Policy for the procedure for submitting a request.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
The Website and its content may include text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, layouts, designs, product descriptions, editorial materials and other content owned by or licensed to TrendLit or the relevant rights holders.
Unless otherwise indicated, these materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may access and use the Website for personal, non-commercial browsing and purchasing purposes.
Without prior written permission from the relevant rights holder, you must not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, publicly communicate, sell or commercially exploit Website content, except where permitted by applicable law.
The purchase of a physical book, publication or merchandise item does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights, translation rights, adaptation rights or other intellectual property rights in its contents.
All rights not expressly granted remain with the relevant rights holder.
14. Authors, Publications and Third-Party Rights
TrendLit publishes, distributes and promotes works created by authors, translators, illustrators, photographers and other contributors.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the purchase of a publication does not grant permission to reproduce, distribute, translate, adapt, digitise or commercially exploit the work beyond the rights associated with ordinary ownership of the purchased item and any rights granted by law.
The views expressed in individual books, articles, essays and other publications are those of their respective authors and do not necessarily represent the views of TrendLit.
References to third-party works, authors, publishers, brands or products do not imply ownership of or endorsement by those parties unless expressly stated.
15. Manuscript Submissions and Publishing Enquiries
Information on the Website about publishing opportunities, submissions, editorial services, translation, design or other professional activities is provided for general information unless expressly stated otherwise.
Submitting a manuscript, proposal, sample, quotation request or project enquiry does not guarantee that TrendLit will accept, publish, commission, distribute or otherwise undertake the project.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, a submission does not itself establish a publishing agreement, transfer intellectual property rights or create an obligation to provide editorial feedback.
Please do not submit confidential material through an open enquiry channel unless the relevant submission process expressly provides for it.
Any accepted publishing or commissioned project will be governed by the applicable written agreement.
16. Professional and Commissioned Services
TrendLit may provide or coordinate professional services, including publishing, editorial work, translation, design, typesetting, content development, merchandise production and educational programmes.
These services may require a separate quotation, project brief, service agreement or contract specifying:
-
The agreed scope of work and deliverables.
-
Fees, deposits, payment milestones and applicable taxes.
-
Timelines, approvals and client responsibilities.
-
Revision limits and changes to the scope of work.
-
Cancellation, postponement and refund arrangements.
-
Intellectual property ownership and licensing.
-
Third-party expenses and production costs.
Unless a separate agreement states otherwise, information on the Website does not constitute a binding offer to provide a particular service at a particular price or on a particular timeline.
Where a separate agreement applies, the rights and obligations of the parties will be determined by that agreement and applicable law.
17. Customer Reviews, Feedback and Submissions
If the Website permits reviews, comments, suggestions or other submissions, you are responsible for ensuring that your contributions are lawful, accurate to the best of your knowledge and do not infringe another person's rights.
You must not submit content that is fraudulent, defamatory, unlawful, abusive, infringing or otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
You retain any rights you have in original content you submit, subject to any separate agreement that applies.
By voluntarily submitting feedback or suggestions about our products or services, you grant us permission to use that feedback for reasonable business purposes, such as improving our services or responding to your enquiry, without transferring ownership of your underlying intellectual property.
We will not treat an ordinary customer review or enquiry as an unrestricted licence to reproduce unrelated copyrighted material.
We may moderate or remove submissions where reasonably necessary to address unlawful content, spam, abuse or infringement, subject to applicable law.
18. Third-Party Services and Links
The Website may contain links to external websites or integrate third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, delivery companies, social media platforms, analytics tools and communication services.
These services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not control all third-party websites or their independent operations. We are not responsible for their content or practices except to the extent that applicable law makes us responsible.
The inclusion of a link or integration does not, by itself, imply an endorsement of the third party.
19. Website Availability and Security
We endeavour to maintain a functional and accessible Website but do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature will always be available.
We may update, maintain, suspend or modify parts of the Website for operational, security, technical or business reasons.
Where reasonably practicable, we will take steps to minimise disruption to customers with pending orders.
You must not attempt to interfere with the Website's security or functionality or gain unauthorised access to systems or data.
Nothing in this section removes any contractual obligation or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Privacy and Personal Data
Our collection, use, disclosure, protection and retention of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy.
We may process personal data as reasonably necessary to operate the Website, fulfil orders, process payments, provide customer service, prevent fraud and comply with applicable law.
Where required, we will obtain consent or rely on another lawful basis permitted by applicable data protection legislation.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details of your rights and how to contact us about personal data.
21. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Website and its general informational content are provided without a guarantee that access will always be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device or system.
We do not guarantee that a particular publication, product or professional service will achieve a customer's subjective expectations or a specific commercial outcome unless such an outcome has been expressly agreed in a binding contract.
Product-specific representations, express contractual promises and statutory rights remain applicable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, condition, representation or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrendLit will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the Website or a transaction where such loss may lawfully be excluded.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, our liability will be assessed in light of the nature of the claim, the circumstances of the transaction and the applicable legal requirements.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability or statutory remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Nothing in these Terms limits a customer's rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including relevant protections concerning goods that do not conform to the contract.
23. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses and reasonable costs directly arising from your unlawful use of the Website, infringement of third-party rights or material breach of these Terms.
This provision does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss results from our own breach of contract, negligence or other conduct for which we remain legally responsible.
24. Force Majeure
Neither party will be responsible for a delay or failure to perform an obligation to the extent that it is caused by circumstances beyond that party's reasonable control and that could not reasonably have been avoided or overcome.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, widespread transport disruptions, significant telecommunications failures or other comparable events.
The affected party will take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact and resume performance where practicable.
This section does not automatically cancel an order or permit TrendLit to retain payment for goods or services that cannot be supplied where a refund or other remedy is required by law.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, Website, products or legal obligations.
The latest version will be published on the Website with its updated date.
Changes will apply prospectively from the effective date indicated, subject to applicable law. Existing transactions will be governed by the terms applicable to those transactions, together with any valid subsequent agreement between the parties.
Where a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will take the steps required by law.
26. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary where legally permissible.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent that they can operate independently and consistently with applicable law.
27. No Waiver
A failure or delay by either party to exercise a right under these Terms does not automatically constitute a waiver of that right.
Any waiver must be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable law.
28. Entire Agreement and Order of Precedence
These Terms, together with the applicable product listing, checkout terms and policies expressly incorporated into the relevant transaction, govern the relevant use of the Website or purchase.
Where a separate written agreement applies to a particular commissioned project or professional service, that agreement will prevail on matters specifically addressed by it to the extent of any inconsistency, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this section excludes terms that are incorporated into a contract by law or any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
29. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to the relevant transaction.
If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can attempt to resolve the matter fairly and efficiently.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through direct communication, either party may pursue the remedies available through the appropriate courts or dispute-resolution processes.
The courts of Singapore will have jurisdiction to the extent permitted by applicable law. This clause does not remove any mandatory rights that a consumer may have in another jurisdiction.
