Introduction
A boundary-breaking bilingual print journal for writers to explore the self using a new persona. We seek oddly-shaped pieces of writing that teases, abrades, or shatters conventional boundaries of poetry, essay, and fiction. We publish accepted works pseudonymously.
Portuguese poet and writer Fernando Pessoa, who employed over 70 personas in his works, famously proclaimed, “To pretend is to know oneself.” We believe a pseudonym creates a space to experiment imaginatively with words. We hope to live this philosophy with emerging writers who dare to take the plunge and established writers who dare to raise the stakes.
As we dissolve the boundaries of our writings and escape the familiarity of words, oddities emerge in our written words and the unspoken lines in between. We hope to bring these oddities in close conversation with each other, sparking dialogues in a transformative exchange. May our oddities echo.
