About the Book
The story is set in late 1980s Hong Kong and follows Philip Qin, an Australian Chinese with a PhD in Electrical Engineering, who is appointed as the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the prestigious Hong Kong Polytechnic Institute. Philip is a cunning, calculating, and vengeful man, narrow-minded and driven by his ambitions. Simultaneously, he is a womanizer with a weakness for alcohol. The narrative begins with his arrival in Hong Kong, chronicling his manipulative tactics and strategic plotting as he strives to fulfill his grand ambitions, while also indulging in various romantic entanglements. But can he ultimately dominate both his professional and personal conquests?
About the Author/Editor
Lin Zhongzi, Chinese-educated and holds a polytechnic diploma in architecture. He spent less than a decade working in both public and private sectors while earning his bachelor's and master's degrees part-time. Subsequently, he returned to his alma mater as a lecturer, a position he held for over 20 years. With a passion for debate, Lin trained students to compete in Chinese-language university debate competitions broadcast on television. In his spare time, he enjoys writing novels for pleasure and occasionally publishes articles in Lianhe Zaobao.

作者简介
林中子，新加坡华校生，理工学院建筑系毕业。在公共与私人机构工作不到十年，其间半工读进修学士及硕士学位后，回母校工院当了二十几年讲师。林因对辩论有兴趣，便负责训练辩论员参加电视台的华语大专辩论会。闲暇时候也有笔耕，写写小说，自娱自乐。偶尔也发表文章在《联合早报》。
