About the Book
Jiang Nanxiang was the longest-serving president of Tsinghua University after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He also held the positions of Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Education before and after the Cultural Revolution. Told from the perspective of his children, this book retraces Jiang’s lifelong commitment to truth and pragmatism, as well as his pioneering contributions to the development and reform of education in New China.
About the Author/Editor
Yan Jia was born in Beijing in 1951. After graduating from middle school, she spent nearly five years as a sent-down youth in the countryside, where she also taught at a rural community school. In 1977, she graduated from the German Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and in 1981, earned a Master's Degree in economics from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Following her postgraduate studies, she worked at the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as well as in various government departments. She is now retired.

作者／編者簡介
延佳，1951年生於北京。國中畢業後下鄉插隊近五年，曾在農村民辦學校任教。 1977年畢業於北京外國語學院德語專業，1981年獲中國社會科學院研究生院經濟學碩士學位。研究生畢業後，曾先後在中國社會科學院經濟研究所及政府綜合部門工作。已退休。
