About Just JACK

Just JACK presents the modern urban gay experience, exploring the complexities of relationships and emotions. The story follows the lives of J, Wentao, Nick, and Xiaoxin as they navigate social gatherings, love, friendship, desire, and the search for identity and emotional belonging in an urban environment. Set in Beijing, these characters support each other through hardships, emotional entanglements, and life challenges. Each represents different facets of the urban gay community, and through their stories, the novel delves into themes of love, friendship, family, and self-discovery, reflecting the diversity and contradictions of contemporary city life.

About the Author

Originally from Dalian, Liaoning, the author once roamed the streets of Beijing and now resides between Shanghai and Hangzhou. A science major who never imagined becoming a writer, they are a dreamer lost in daydreams, an observer of human sensitivities, and a stubborn soul who frequently regrets but never changes. When a person truly starts living for themselves, they find little need to explain their actions to others.
